Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) has got improved unity desktop with a lot of cool new stuffs, and it’s pretty stable! (unlike the previous versions). On the other hand, Linux Mint 13 – which has been released in parallel with 12.04, but with a new desktop based on Gnome 3/shell – called as Cinnamon (which seems to be better because of the Gnome 2 look and feel). Although, fallback mode is there in Ubuntu 12.04 but that’s too crappy but Cinnamon may be a good one for Gnome 2 lovers who feel uncomfortable in the Gnome 3 based desktops (Unity, Gnome Shell etc).
